Jaime D. Sigaran steers federal legislative and agency advocacy efforts specializing in Clean Water Act issues and the appropriations process. In coordination with the Conservation program team, he leads internal and external engagements to formulate comprehensive lobbying strategies and manages advocacy projects including lobby days, briefings, and roundtables on Capitol Hill. He is responsible for advancing American River’s priorities before Congress, and the Administration.
Prior to joining American Rivers in 2022, Jaime served as the Senior Legislative Associate at Southern Environmental Law Center where we worked on the Clean Water Defense Initiative. He successfully lobbied Congress to advance protections for wetlands, improve drinking water standards, and enhance clean water access for millions of people across the Southeast. Jaime previously worked at National Audubon Society as a National Campaigns Associate supporting the Saving Seabirds, Solar Access, and Protecting the Arctic Refuge campaigns.
Education: B.A. in Government and Public Policy from University of Baltimore, Master of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School
