Event Date | Time: | 09:00 am to 12:00 pm

There will be a trash/litter clean-up on and alongside Wilson Creek on the morning of November 3rd! Come get dirty!

If water levels allow, we will have a crew of boat-based volunteers paddle and remove trash from the river and eddies. Otherwise, volunteers will walk the riverbanks, access trails, parking areas and Brown Mountain Beach Road, bagging trash as we go.

Trash bags and gloves will be provided, and the US Forest Service has offered to pick up collected trash bags from the road.

If you have ever enjoyed Wilson Creek in any way, come give back to this special place by removing the litter that unfortunately plagues the corridor!

We will be meeting at the parking area alongside Brown Mountain Beach Road, on the left, 1.5 miles away from Adako Road, if you’re driving heading upstream. This is the access point commonly used as the take-out for the gorge paddling section.

GPS Coordinates for meeting location: 35.915970, -81.729213

From there, we will form teams for specific sections of the creek, trails, parking areas and road. Bags and gloves will also be distributed here.
