With the recent pandemic, fishing access sites are seeing more public use than ever. While it is encouraging that our community, and the rest of the public, is enjoying our wildlands, this also comes with a drawback, more litter. During this time, there is more litter appearing at the more commonly used fishing accesses in Stillwater County.
The Stillwater River Fishing Accesses Clean-Up Day would cover all ten fishing accesses from Fireman’s Point to Old Nye. Pollution, no matter how small, can accumulate and create larger problems downstream. Clean water equals clean living, and clean water ways help maintain healthy fish and wildlife habitats, which can continue to be enjoyed by future generations of Stillwater County. Take pride in the Stillwater River and keep it as pristine, clean, and wild as ever, by taking part in the Clean-Up Day on Friday, August 27th, 2021. Stillwater River Fishing Accesses Clean-Up Day is made possible by the Montana Wilderness Association, Montana FWP, and Stillwater County. Please feel free to contact the Project Manager Shannon Fisher at Stillwater County Courthouse at 406-322-8010 with any questions or concerns.
