Riverkeeper Sweep – Yonkers Site

The Center for the Urban River at Beczak (CURB) welcomes volunteers for the 7th annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This event is organized by Riverkeeper, a local non-profit organization that focuses on the health of the Hudson River.
Since the 2011 inception of the Riverkeeper Sweep, 10,000 volunteers spread throughout the Hudson River and its tributaries, have removed 191 tons of debris, planted 2,228 trees and native grasses, and removed tons of invasive species.
Here at our Yonkers site we will work on waterfront trash clean-ups, marsh erosion repairs, and invasive plant removal. This event is open to volunteers of all ages and gloves are provided! Refreshments and a pizza lunch will be included. Registration Required!
