Trash and litter along a stream is not just unsightly. It’s harmful to wildlife and water quality. In celebration of Earth Day, each year we organize a watershed-wide stream cleanup. At our April 2018 event, 1,660 volunteers picked up more than 13.5 tons of trash at 56 cleanup sites, improving 76 miles of rivers and streams! Our volunteers included families, scout troops, churches, businesses, civic groups, schools, environmental commissions and others.
