Ohio River Sweep

The Ohio River Sweep, the annual volunteer, cleanup of the Ohio River and some of its tributaries. Each year multiple locations along the entire Ohio River host a cleanup.

The event is easily accessible to many audiences in the Ohio River Valley, including young people, families and community organizations. During a Saturday morning, volunteers remove tons of litter, especially plastics, from the Ohio River. The Ohio River Sweep coordinates communities to help a global problem: plastics in our oceans. Ohio River Sweep volunteers remove plastics from rivers before those plastics reach the oceans.
