National Public Lands Day Cleanup: Theodore Roosevelt Island

What happens when we team up with some of the best local and national partners around? One exciting day of service!

Join Potomac Conservancy, American Rivers, and Friends of Theodore Roosevelt Island on September 22 for a day of cleaning up one of our favorite parks! Click here to sign up.

What could possibly make this day even better? September 22 is National Public Lands Day! National Public Lands Day is the single largest volunteer effort for public lands. If this year is anything like the last, you will be joining over 75,000 volunteers at more than 2,100 public land sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico to do your part for these national treasures.

Parking at Theodore Roosevelt Island is tight so we are encouraging all volunteers to carpool or take public transportation.

BY CAR
– Drivers can only reach Theodore Roosevelt Island from the northbound lanes of the George Washington Memorial Parkway. After Memorial Bridge, follow the sign to turn right into the parking lot.

Please note that you must park in a designated parking space. US Park Police regularly tickets drivers who have parked on the grass. Alternatively, you can park in Rosslyn for just 5 bucks!
