French Broad River Festival cleanup

Every year as a way to give back to the community and river that we all enjoy, French Broad River Festival organizes a pre-fest cleanup of beautiful Section 9. Volunteers take a guided half day raft trip on Thursday April 30th picking up trash (and sometimes treasure!) and enjoying class 2-3 rapids along the way. The cleanup is hosted by our friends at Nantahala Outdoor Center who provide guides, rafts, and lunch. Cleaning supplies are provided by Riverlink. At the takeout the day’s “haul” is loaded into a dumpster provided by Valley Waste Asheville and then we celebrate with swag and refreshments provided by our sponsor Sierra Nevada Brewing. Volunteers will also receive discount coupons to that weekend’s French Broad River Fest (or a rebate if tickets already purchased).
