The annual Bidwell Park & Chico Creeks Cleanup will take place Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 9:00am to 12:30pm. Each year 400-500 volunteers help pull several TONS (literally) of garbage and recyclables out of Chico’s Creeks and our beautiful, beloved Bidwell Park! When the work is over, the party begins! BEC celebrates the accomplishments of all the volunteers holding an entirely free volunteer appreciation barbeque at Sierra Nevada Brewery, with Burgers cooked by Madison Bear Garden, snacks from Lundberg Family Farms, games, live music, a prize drawing with a new bike donated by Pullins Cyclery, and for those over 21, a beer.
In partnership with the City of Chico, Butte County, and the California Coastal Commission, this annual legacy event has been a BEC tradition since 1986.
Check-in will take place at two locations: Hooker Oak Park and Annie K Bidwell Parlor. From there volunteers check in and are dispatched to multiple locations throughout Chico. Including Bidwell Park, Little Chico Creek, Big Chico Creek, Comanche Creek, and Lindo Channel.
