20th Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup

The 20th Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup will take place along the entire length of the Charles River. Following the cleanup our main picnic site will be at Fielder Field by the Hatch Memorial Shell with other picnic locations in Bellingham and Waltham for volunteer further out.

The day of the Cleanup volunteers will check-in at 9:00 am. At check-in volunteers will be supplied trash bags, gloves and pickup sticks to discard trash and remove invasive species until 12:00 pm. Snacks will be provided. While supplies last, each volunteer will also receive an Official 2019 Charles River Cleanup metal water bottle designed by a student of Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

At the completion of the Cleanup at 12:00 pm, volunteers working will gather for a picnic and celebration. Speakers, including Charles River Watershed Association’s Executive Emily Norton, State Senator Brownsberger and other project partners will thank volunteers for their dedication to making the Charles River a beautiful place to live, work and play.

All volunteers must register through CRWA’s website at  www.crwa.org/cleanup.
