Simone Sampson

Conservation Program Assistant

Simone started her journey in conservation at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, where she started in Guest Engagement interpreting different conservation efforts to the general public to raise awareness and influence action. Shortly after, she transitioned to animal care where she worked with hundreds of rehabilitating sea turtles and helped them prepare for their release back into the ocean. Spending so much time in Baltimore for school and work she became very familiar with the Chesapeake Bay and got the opportunity to participate in several Oyster restoration projects that contributed to her experience with marine science and conservation. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family/friends and taking care of her two dogs Ryder and Shiloh.

Education: Morgan State University: BS in Biology (and was a women’s basketball player!)
