Education: B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences and M.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Illinois.
Favorite River: Middle Fork of the Vermilion River
River Story: Once, I had the pleasure of spending a week in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with a group of Sierra Club members and activist Tim DeChristopher, who is an amazing and interesting person. Listening to his stories about from the front lines of the climate change movement while surrounded by so much beauty and wild was very inspiring. But, my favorite memory was when he found a natural waterslide in one of the many rapids. Padded by a carpet of aquatic plants, it was an exciting and relieving break after a long portage.
