Kelsey Green joined American Rivers in 2018 as Conservation Outreach Associate working on the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan.
Prior to joining American Rivers, Kelsey served as San Juan Islands Conservation District Program Manager, primarily working to implement conservation projects on agricultural land. In her other roles Kelsey focused on public relations, outreach and communications, including work through Washington State University, Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council and Mercy Corps. Kelsey comes from a background in field biology; including her role as project biologist for the Western Bluebird Reintroduction Program with Ecostudies Institute, in addition to holding positions with Oregon State University Fisheries & Wildlife and Institute for Applied Ecology.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Kelsey has a deep commitment to this region but also loves to get out and see the world. Upon completing her undergrad, she traveled extensively through Southeast Asia and volunteered in Laos with Wildlife Conservation Society. Kelsey attended graduate school in Scotland and has visited Europe, Mexico, Iceland and West Africa.
Education: M.S. in GeoScience from University of Edinburgh, UK and B.A. in Environmental Studies from University of Oregon.
