Jennifer manages and oversees the drafting and reviewing of contracts, assists to ensure sound corporate governance and tax compliance, advises on employment issues, works with the executive staff to reduce liability risk by developing effective internal policies and procedures, and coordinates with outside counsel to address specialty legal issues.
Prior to joining American Rivers, Jennifer was the Executive Director to the Center for Progressive Reform, a nonprofit research and educational organization with a network of legal and environmental professors working to protect health, safety, and the environment through analysis and commentary. Jennifer also has served as an attorney adjudicating complaints of discrimination by federal employees with the Department of Justice and clerked for Maryland Circuit Court Judge James Lombardi. Prior to attending law school, she worked in senior staff positions in the offices of Department of Labor and on Capitol Hill.
Education: B.A. from the University of Colorado, and J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School with a concentration in environmental law
