Destinee Henton

Associate Director, Clean Water Supply

Destinee Henton worked as a community organizer on Cleveland’s Westside where she connected residents to resources supporting their efforts to draft and implement new practices and programs in their neighborhood. Following this, Destinee served as Outreach Manager for the Alliance for the Great Lakes working to build a base of Cleveland residents, educators, and youth engaged and active for a clean and safe Lake Erie. Destinee played an instrumental role in ensuring young people have a voice in the Alliance’s work with communities across the region. Destinee currently leads a county wide youth serving organization known as Future Leaders of the World (FLOW), an after-school youth program focused on youth development and social justice. Throughout her career, Destinee has worked as a youth advocate and community partner dedicated to uplifting community voice and prioritizing equity.

Education: Studied Political Science at Case Western Reserve University

Favorite River: Red River in Alexandria, Louisiana

River Story: My favorite times as a kid were growing up in Louisiana events on the Red River’s riverfront stage like the fourth of July fireworks.
