Amber assists with the coordination and implementation of both national and also basin-based activities to both raise the visibility of American Rivers and build a culture of philanthropy.
Amber came to American Rivers in 2019 with nearly a decade of experience working with nonprofits. Prior to joining our team, she worked with The Sierra Fund where she provided key capacity in coordinating fundraising activities, planning special events and managing technical systems. She previously worked as the River Program Associate for Environmental Traveling Companions, an organization specializing in making outdoor adventures accessible to people with disabilities and under-resourced youth. Amber also worked with the State of California’s North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board writing water quality permits and preparing comments on Environmental Impact Reports and Studies related to proposed development projects.
Amber is a certified Wilderness First Responder, avid rock climber and white-water paddle guide.
Education: Amber has a degree in Environmental Studies and City Planning from Sonoma State University and holds a Professional Certificate in Nonprofit Technology from the Nonprofit Technology Network.
