Since 2007, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has been a generous sponsor of the National River Cleanup® program. This sponsorship has been critical to the growth of the program’s national infrastructure that supports river cleanups across the country. In recent years, their support has led to the creation of a virtual suite of educational content for American Rivers supporters and volunteers.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters provides great opportunities for employees to volunteer across the country, including multiple river cleanups. Over the past few years, hundreds of employees in Vermont have spent thousands of hours cleaning up the Winooski River during their annual week-long employee river cleanup event. In 2012 alone, 456 GMCR and Keurig volunteers on the Winooski River, VT, Merrimack River, NH, and the Knoxville River, TN, cleaned approximately 8 ½ river miles removing over 1,002 tires!
We are proud to work with a company dedicated to utilizing their resources to better the environment and encouraging employee engagement through river cleanups.
