Richard Sloan started RiverTree Volunteers March 10, 2003, as a non-profit organization with no paid members, to help clean up the San Joaquin River in California. Since then, the organization averages removing 700 tires and 40 tons of trash and debris fro the San Joaquin River every year. RiverTree involves approximately 2 to 3 thousand volunteers every year. RiverTree’s activities can be viewed on Facebook Rivertree Volunteers.
