Nancy Rich – Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee

Nancy Rich is the representative for Chesterfield Massachusetts on the Wild & Scenic Westfield River Committee.

She spearheaded a group in her town to adopt a long segment of river in order to report back to the committee and gather data on its health. This data inspired the committee to hire a specialist to conduct a survey along this stretch, which identified not only rare and endangered species, but beautiful riparian meadows that no longer exist on most rivers due to their manipulation by humans.

This past year Nancy worked tirelessly to rewrite and make the web site more interactive for our 20th year celebrating the Wild & Scenic designation.
