Named Tennessee Clean Water Network’s (TCWN) Executive Director in 2003, Renee Hoyos has been dedicated to water protection and environmental advocacy throughout her career.
Her community involvement and civic engagement leads her to be a fierce and respected advocate for watershed management and policy programs, improving streams and rivers statewide. Through TCWN she directs fundraising and outreach efforts as well as policy advocacy for cleaner water, including participation in American Rivers’ River Action Day in DC. At the helm of TCWN, Renee uses litigation, legislation, administrative action and constituency building to achieve great progress. Her advocacy results in better protection for Tennessee’s high quality waters, citizen access to environmental enforcement actions, an aggressive sewage clean-up in Knoxville, and she successfully defends legislative attacks on clean water at the state capitol.
