Middle Fork Salmon River, ID
The Middle Fork of the Salmon River runs 110 miles down the center of Idaho and has over 100 rapids. As one of the original eight rivers designated under the Wild and Scenic Act in 1968, it is home to incredible landscapes and crystal clear creeks. The river is well-known for its recreational attributes, such as Whitewater rafting and flyfishing. It also has many hotsprings, which have become popular spots for tourists.
In August 2013, American Rivers partnered with The Infamous Stringdusters for the 2013 American Rivers Tour. As part of the Tour, The Infamous Stringdusters and American Rivers rafted down the Middle Fork Salmon River to raise awareness for river issues. Check out the amazing Mini-Documentary filmed on the river!
