Not only does the Colorado River provide drinking water to thirty-six million people and irrigate nearly four million acres of land, it also is home to an array of wildlife and provides excellent recreational opportunities. Boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking along the Colorado River and its tributaries contribute to a $26 billion recreation economy.
