Local Water Efficiency Legislation in the Southeast
Local governments are uniquely positioned to manage municipal water use. American Rivers has been working with communities across the Southeast to adopt policies that increase water efficiency and decrease water waste. These policies are outlined in our report, Hidden Reservoir: Why Water Efficiency is the Best Solution for the Southeast. Communities like Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, and Greensboro, NC are already moving toward using their water more wisely. Water efficiency policies at the local level are proven and time and again have shown not only to provide increased water resources but also to save those communities tax dollars.
