Promote a Cleanup

Invite Your Community’s Civic Leaders: Extend an invitation to your mayor, city council members and other political leaders at both the state and national levels to attend your river cleanup. Their participation in your event presents a great opportunity for you to engage them on local river health issues. Inform the Media: Send out media advisories and press releases about your event. There is nothing like a news story to highlight the hard work of you and your volunteers to cleanup your hometown river. A sample media advisory and press release are included in the Organizer’s Handbook.
