Washington DC - American Rivers is pleased to announce that we are accepting bids for the removal of the Simkins Dam on the Patapsco River in Ellicott City, Maryland. We have been working with Friends of the Patapsco Valley State Park, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Maryland Department of Natural Resources for the past two years to study and design the restoration of this section of the Patapsco. This removal is possible thanks to Recovery Act funding awarded through NOAA. American Rivers is excited to be able to implement this project and continue to inject funding into the Maryland economy.
Bids are due September 1 with a pre-bid conference on August 23. Interested firms can download the full bid package.
