American Rivers, and partners, the Waccamaw RIVERKEEPER® and Pee Dee Land Trust, would like to congratulate Coastal Carolina University student, Matthew Gray, for creating the winning logo for the Waccamaw River Blue Trail. To meet Matthew and hear a little about his motivation for designing the logo, visit the Sun News website to view a recent video interview where Matthew talks about kayaking on the Waccamaw, its towering cypress trees and trying to capture the essence of the river.
The blue trail is a community effort and the logo contest is one way partners are working to engage the community in the process. Several hundred community members voted for their favorite logo and are excited to see the new logo on promotional materials including trail maps and signage.
