Blue skies and a light breeze accompanied the aroma of grilling sausages at the inaugural “Celebrate East Rosebud” event held at East Rosebud Lake late last month. While most of the 240 local residents in attendance brought dishes to share – delicious homemade foods piled high on tables in the historic East Rosebud Lake Lodge - all brought a passion for protecting one of Montana’s most beloved streams.

No Conservation Zone?

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed a bill that allows the federal government to ignore critical environmental laws, including Wild and Scenic designation, and create a "no conservation zone" within a 100-mile corridor along our borders.

The Beautiful Sky

As the uplift of the Cascade mountain range began millions of years ago great upheavals occurred. Glaciers came and went, slowly etching one of nature's great works of art in the area around Mt. Index.  As the glaciers slowly receded, the South Fork of the Skykomish River was born as an artery of the Earth.
