Cleaning Up with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters!
August 2, 2010 | National River Cleanup, Restoring Rivers
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is not only a generous sponsor of American Rivers’ National River Cleanup™, but for the 6th year in a row they are hosting their own weeklong cleanup of the Winooski River. What better way to spend a weekday afternoon, than to help the wonderful staff of Green Mountain cleanup their hometown river!
I had the privilege to witness the hard work and dedication of the Green Mountain staff first hand while they spent part of their 52 volunteer hours removing tons of trash from the Winooski River. Green Mountain Coffee encourages their employees to volunteer for nonprofit and community-based organizations during normal working hours.
With their headquarters not far from the cleanup site, in Waterbury, Vermont, the staff takes great pride in being good stewards of their community. Not to mention their pride in their great coffee!
Thanks to all the Green Mountain staff for doing such a great job and for letting me join you!
