Watch our new Elwha River dam removal film

We’re continuing to celebrate the world’s biggest dam removal on Washington’s Elwha River. Last week, a standing room only crowd of 300 at the Seattle REI store watched as we premiered a new film in our Year of the River series. Now you can see the video for yourself:

The film by Andy Maser provides some background on this historic river conservation success, and introduces us to two advocates, Rick Rutz and Shawn Cantrell, who helped make it happen. And special thanks to our oarsman Bruce McGlenn for getting us down the river.

Learn more about why 2011 was the Year of the River, and watch the first Elwha film here.

And check back soon – we’ll be releasing the final film in this series in the coming days. It’s a longer film featuring footage from both the Elwha and White Salmon rivers.
