Waccamaw River Blue Trail to be extended to North Carolina

Communities across the nation are beginning to recognize the variety of benefits their local rivers offer and are taking steps to ensure their protection through the creation of Blue Trails. American Rivers and its partners have been working to create the Waccamaw River Blue Trail in South Carolina and now an effort is underway to extend the Waccamaw River Blue Trail to the North Carolina portion of the river.

When complete, the Blue Trail will travel through two states from its source at Lake Waccamaw in North Carolina to Winyah Bay in South Carolina. The effort is gaining momentum with the help of some great media coverage including articles in the Georgetown Times and on SC Now.
