MillerCoors celebrates Great Water Month
in Golden, CO | MillerCoors

Personally, I love a cold beer after a float down the river.  And you certainly can’t call yourself a “beer lover” without recognizing how important clean water is to the production of that bit of frothy goodness.

Water is essential to every step of the brewing process, from growing ingredients like barley and hops to production – water makes up to 95% of your pint of beer!  For centuries, quality water has been essential to produce one of the world’s most beloved beverages.

As part of Great Water Month, MillerCoors employees from across the country are teaming with their distributer partners to help clean up their local rivers from Atlanta to the Rockies to the California coast.  American Rivers is thrilled to be a part of the festivities this year through National River Cleanup®.  Cleanup events kicked off this past weekend and will continue through mid-October.

Good beer and clean water go hand in hand.  And since most Americans get their drinking water from a river or stream, it’s great to see a brewing company inspired to keep those sources clean.

Have you seen other brands inspired by rivers? What are some of your favorite river beverages? Tell us on Facebook.

Pssst! There’s still time to register your own cleanup this fall.  Check out our National River Cleanup webpage to volunteer at a cleanup or to organize your own.
