The Community-based Restoration Program helps communities restore rivers by removing unsafe dams and opening up habitat for fish. The program has funded more than 2,300 projects that helped the recovery of threatened and endangered species. Plus, it has provided an average of 30 local jobs to communities for every $1 million invested.

So it makes no sense to slash funding for this program that leverages private funding and local community involvement. As the Obama Administration finalizes the upcoming budget proposal, we need them to restore the funding that was cut last year.

Here’s What You Can Do Right Now

First, if you haven’t yet please urge the Obama Administration to support critical funding to restore rivers.
