Waccamaw River Blue Trail Organizer
Department: Conservation

Area of Focus: Staci works to engage the community by reconnecting them to the Waccamaw River through the creation of its blue trail. She also provides educational outreach for landowners and local decision makers in order to further the protection efforts of critical lands along the river corridor.

Background: Staci joined American Rivers in May 2009. Prior to that she worked for Conservation Voters of South Carolina as the Project Director for CoastMatters, focusing on local land use issues.

Education: B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa, M.S. work in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health

Waccamaw River Blue Trail listed as priority for America’s Great Outdoors Rivers Initiative

Recently, the Waccamaw River Blue Trail was listed as the priority project for both North and South Carolina as part of the America’s Great Outdoors Rivers Initiative. We are really excited to continue working with all of our great local partners, and now the National Park Service, to promote the blue trail, improve public access and protect riverside land.
