Area of Focus: Jean manages the Government Grants program at American Rivers. She is responsible for regulatory compliance, monitoring expenditures and cost-share obligations, and financial reporting of the organization's Government Grants portfolio. Jean also engages in efforts to secure Government grants and reviews grant budgets.
Background: Jean, a CPA, brings 30 years experience in accounting, audit and Government grants management and compliance. Jean joined American Rivers in 2009. Prior to American Rivers, Jean managed federal grants compliance as the Grants Compliance Officer at National Geographic and also served as VP of Internal Audit at National Geographic for 10 years. She began her career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, LLP.
Education: B.S. in Accounting from Georgetown University; Maryland state CPA; Certificate in Grants Management; Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
