Area of Focus: Alexis is currently the National River Cleanup Campaign Manager. She is responsible for coordinating river cleanup efforts with volunteers and corporate sponsors nationwide.
Background: Alexis joined American Rivers in 2013. Prior to that she worked as an Information Technology consultant for Le Tigre Solutions and Hewlett-Packard. She also worked as a Diversity Outreach Coordinator for the Environmental Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder as well as a naturalist for the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies.
Education: B.A. in History with a focus in American conservation theory from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
M.S. in Interdisciplinary Sustainability Studies with a focus in communication and resource management from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Its official, the 2013 National River Cleanup® season has begun! Last year, over 92,000 volunteers removed 3.5 million pounds of trash from more than 39,000 miles of waterways across America. As a result, the 2012 National River Cleanup was the most successful season since the program began in 1991.

American Rivers acknowledges that rivers and the ecosystems that depend on them connect every living thing on the planet.
