40th Anniversary arm chair disccusion with our Founders

Over the past 40 years, American Rivers has fought to protect wild rivers with Wild and Scenic designation and stop harmful new dam construction. We emerged as a leader in restoring rivers through dam removal and have advocated for clean water, the lifeblood of rivers and our communities. We have fought to uphold the Clean Water Act safeguards on Capitol Hill, and we have helped neighborhoods and businesses use rain gardens and green roofs to stop polluted runoff.

Today, with more than 100,000 members, activists, and volunteers, we reamin the nation’s leading voice for rivers. We are strong and more effetcive than ever, with a 79-person staff working out of our DC headquarters and in offices around the country. We are strong because of our passion for rivers. We are strong because of our dedicated partners, and the stoces of anglers, boaters, and families who value healthy, free-flowing rivers.

Mostly though, we are strong because of you, our supporters. Thank you for your passion and commitment over the last 40 years. We look forward to sharing more successes with you!
